are you sure you cast a right person?

Before I began ranting, let me remind you again and again (tho I think my loyal readers of this blog may had it known already) that I am a Tobikko and to be specific if I had to pick who's my favourite member, I can't pick one. Instead, I have two favourite members and they are Yamada Ryosuke and Chinen Yuri.

And ... I am still new to 'Ansatsu Kyoshitsu' slash 'Assassination Classroom' fandom. Be it manga, anime series, OVA or even the upcoming live action movie. 

When the cast list for 'Ansatsu Kyoshitsu' live action movie was announced in August 2014, I am having mixed feelings as a Tobikko. Seeing more and more members joining Chinen in the Cinema Club (when you are reading this, Nakajima Yuto is currently filming his debut movie 'Pink and Gray' that slated to premiere in cinemas next year) made me happy because finally! JUMP is going to cinemas!

But I came across this comment in one of the articles in AramaJapan and trust me, I cannot help but to agree.

BUT! Bear in mind that at that time I had NO IDEA about Ansatsu fandom. Okay.

So I browsed mangafox.com, try reading the said manga online and while reading, I imagined it with the already announced cast for the live action movie. Also try imagining how was it like for Chinen Yuri to be Shiota Nagisa. 

I had been Tobikko since 2009 and knowing that any JUMP member taking challenging roles in dramas, movies, drama SPs, heck even stage play is actually spelling 'fresh start for adult!JUMP'. Yes, who does not like your bias taking roles that he never done before, huh? That is called versatility, right. When you talking about JUMP members do dramas and drama SPs, of course you are imagining them taking 'student' roles, ALL THE TIME! Boring~ less challenging at all! 

Even Hikaru's role in IDN and Chinen's role in 'Sprout' also considered bleh~ to me. 

Speaking about Chinen, he had done 'bad boy' role ever since he guest starred in 'Yukan Club'. But it was 'Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata ~ Ending Planner~'s Ihara Hayato that bring new definition of 'bad boy role' to Chinen and trust me, he is killing the role so asdfghjkl~. I say that was a turning point of his acting. While Yamada is still being a student (and detective, I must add) until recently ended 'Kindaichi Neo'. He had not reached his turning point of his acting yet, but on 21st March 2015, it will be a turning point for his acting resume. 

Now back to the pics I attached. I read the manga and this is my rant. 

Yes sir, I totally agree that it somehow wrong to cast Yamada Ryosuke as Shiota Nagisa for that movie, considering this is his first time in movies plus he is the lead in the said movie. Chinen should be doing Nagisa, considering he too suits the role of the 'girly but got undesirable bloodlust' character. 'Girly-look' is Yamada and Chinen's middle name anyway. *shrugs* XDDD

just to emphasize, Yamada came up first and Chinen came up fourth in 'Goo's Most Beautiful Johnny's talent under 25' 

Considering the experiences, Chinen has more experiences in movies than Yamada. 

BUT! I also agree that they are casting Yamada for that role. Okay. No offence to those who wanted him to be Nagisa. He himself look like come out from the manga anyway. 

The thing is when it comes to eye candy and rating, Yamada has that 'talent' to attract the viewers to watch the movie. Chinen do have the same 'talent' okay, they are being hated once by fans because being too overrated during NYC era imho. And I simply don't agree with this comment down there, saying Chinen cannot act. HELL THAT GUY CAN ACT LIKE HOW COME HE IS THE FIRST ONE TO BE IN SILVER SCREEN THAN YAMADA? Tell me. Hm. *side-eyeing*

Alright, maybe he had been stiff and bland in some of his early dramas but he is doing better as the drama projects coming up, My favourite role of him aside in 'Ending Planner' was of course, in 'Hissatsu Shigotonin 2014'. Hands down! But please I beg you, do not.ever.compared.him.with.Yamada. That was the worst thing in JUMPsville you can do, ok. 

If you are being in the JUMP fandom long enough, you do know how much Yamada wanted to defeat Chinen in so many ways.  

The conclusion is, both of them suit the role of Shiota Nagisa. Just the production team had so many reasons why they pick Yamada Ryosuke than Chinen Yuri. Only they knew why they decided to cast Yamada to be Nagisa. They are professionals. Who are we to blame? Are you going to defy the professionals? They knew what are they doing. Let them be.

I am sure in 2015, Chinen will got himself another challenging role that sure shut you haters' mouth up from judging his acting skills. Peace.

And one of them is a CLAMP otaku. Specialized on Cardcaptor Sakura and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. I have some posts related to them in this blog, so feel free to check it out using the tags related. If it is not in English, use Google Translate. *winks*

As stated here in my fic blog, (yes! I am a fanfic writer too! But mostly boy x boy fics.) it had been a dream of mine to write a fiction based on the genres featured in TRC and CCS. Ever since I started becoming their otaku. I realized it is a very tough work with my limited English vocabularies to write this genre. I even had to refer to the mangas to gain some ideas and inspirations to write at least a one-shot with this genre. At least one shot. On 25th April 2013, I had managed to write a one-shot fanfiction based on this genre. Sounds late because at this moment I am already a Tobikko. However, I had write a crossover fic, in which implied two fandoms I was and currently in now. It's like a dream come true for me to be able to write a TRC based one shot fic using JUMP members as the characters. Check out the link provided for the said fic.

During the process of writing the said fic, the thought of having either TRC or CCS as a live-action drama or movie started to linger around my head. However, knowing the fact that if there is any CLAMP manga being adapted into a live-action drama or movie, it's kind of quite hard to find the suitable actor / actress to play some roles in the manga because in my opinion as an avid CLAMP otaku, the characters these four amazing ladies had drawn and created is far too perfect to be portrayed by ANY actor /actress living in Japan. In 2012, WOWOW had adapted xxxHolic into a live-action drama. Because I am not quite following the manga, the anime and the drama, so I just take it with a grain of salt. I am managed to check out the actors in the drama and somehow, it was less my expectation. Ok. Maybe I will consider great job picking Suzuki Anne as Yuuko. *shrugs*

If I were given a choice which one I would like to see a live action adaptation between TRC and CCS, I would say TRC. No specific reasons but I remember I have not see any JDrama makers try fantasy genre for their drama aside 'Yokai Ningen Bem'. TRC is another CLAMP manga and anime I would like to see a live action adaptation. Somehow, I had been thinking, if ANY actor in Japan I HAD to pick to portray Li Syaoran / Syaoran Fujitaka, it MUST be this person.

You know who is this. 

And guess what. There is a person who share the same thoughts with me.

Note that the choice is based on the statement, "If I HAD to pick." Because I am aware of the fact that CLAMP boys are TOO PERFECT to be portrayed in a live action. Please spare my life. It is my opinion only.

I pick Yamada Ryosuke not just because he is my ichiban. There are lots of reasons why I pick him. All the reasons are physical appearance reasons because I do not want to talk about his acting skills. If you want me to talk about that, I will keep calm and throw you a DVD box of 'Risou no Musuko' for you to watch. Simple. 

Yamada himself as certified by most Tobikkos and some non-Tobikkos, are just like coming out from a shoujo manga. Do I need to spam his pics here as a proof? I don't need to do that. He had looks. Good looking one. His current hairstyle make it just perfect for him to be 'Syaoran'. Brunette and short hair. Just like 'Syaoran'.

Height? I am aware of the fact that Yamada is among the three 'Smurfs' in JUMP. With his height at about 164 cm (source: NYC photobook 'COLORS', 2013) he may be not your pick to be your Syaoran. But...

164 cm to me is tall, actually. Do not be deceived by those group photos. I am sure you all were deceived by the photos. People who see him in person (note: Thai fans and their HD papapics, thank you) will agree with me. Syaoran is the shortest (minus Sakura) in their group too. I assume his height is at about 165 cm - 170 cm like that. (the point here is Yamada has long legs, thank you *bricked*)

So, to Yamada Ryosuke, please don't worry with your height complex because if this franchise made a live-action, most of us want you to be 'Syaoran'. Thank you.

And for the rest, I leave that to you guys. Tho personally I think Fay's character suits Inoo Kei well. *winks*

Anyways, lately I saw lots of my blog readers like to read my old post when I'm still an anime freak. O.o. Um..I mean, I'm a JKPop fan now, and no longer being an anime freak, can u just accept that? No? Then it's ok. Go on.

Somehow, last week thanks to their annual 24hr TV show, the anticipating 8th episode of 'Sprout' is somehow pushed to the day after tomorrow (1st September). Did UzaMiyu really liked BOTH Hayato and Souhei? We're ought to know. However, from the bottom of my heart as a drama fan, 'Sprout' totally different from any other romantic high school drama that Japan ever produced since 'Koizora'. Another best summer drama after 'Ikemen Desu Ne'. Now, if only the time slot changes for this drama, it may get highest ratings. The week before, at episode 7, it gets the rating of 3.0 %!

My 1^st encounter ngan drama2 Jepun…masa 2 aku form 5…n aku ingat lg 1^st drama Jepun yg aku tgk adalah cta ‘Hana Yori Dango season 1 n 2’. Heee….sampaikan aku leh plak t’minat kat pelakon kacak yg pgg watak Rui Hanazawa 2….hehehe, hensem n cool siot…tp zaman addicted ngan drama Jepun 2 dh lama b’lalu…lgpun aku ni bkn jenis stick 2 the status quo (bak kata tajuk lagu dlm HSM 2). Aku nih, universal, tolak fakta yg aku masih x layan cta hantu, cta thriller n cta2 yg s’waktu dgnnya..(esp kalo tgk cta2 mcm ya pd waktu mlm…heeeeee~)

Opening je, merapu je lbh. Sbnrnya, aku x prnh b’henti dr minat produk2 keluaran Jepun ni. Mula2 anime, pas 2 lak skrg, drama pulak. Kalo ikutkan, aku x kisah sgt sapa plakon2 Jepun nih…haitzz…janji cta best. Part 2 aku x nafikan laa…walaupun k’bnykan drama jepun adalah adaptasi dr manga…asal drama Jepun br kuar, aku tros ckp, “tk mesti adaptation dr manga tk”. Walhal actually x semua yg adaptasi dr manga…hehe.

X lupa gak otai2 mcm Takuya Kimura, Takeshi Kaneshiro (kejamnya aku panggil dorg otai..haha) ngan Yamapi (nama pjgnya, kalo x slh, Yamashita Tomohisa, kalo slh sorry ekk, ku sdar mamat ni bnyk peminat)…waktu ku lyn kejap cta ‘HanaKimi’ aku knl ngan si Ikuta Toma lak…hmmmm….then br kali ni aku terasa serius b’knlan ngan ramai lg plakon2 Jepun. Fyi, semua pelakon2 Jepun yg disenaraikan di atas, b’umur dlm lingkungan 20 thn ke atas, jd…..ada gak t’detik di kepala aku, ada ke plakon2 remaja Jepun….yg umo b’belas2 2.. yg feymes, well, tolak Horikita Maki laa (aku br tau yg Horikita Maki 2 br je 22 yrs old, laaaa…aku ingatkan umo dia 2 25 thn…HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA~). Nk d’jdkan cta, tym boring2 2 aku lyn anime Prince of Tennis..(skrg ni br sampai eps 11, eps 12 on da go) n mcm biasa, jd private investigator x b’gaji kejap, search psl Prince of Tennis ni kat Wikipedia..pak cik Wikipedia cakap, Prince of Tennis ni ada live action movienya. Maksudnya, watak2 lam anime Prince of Tennis mcm Ryoma Echizen, Momoshiro, Tezuka…akan d’lakonkan oleh org betul laa, yakni plakon2 yg b’tuah kena audition utk filem nih. Filem 2 lak kuar thn 2006, 4 thn dh noo…n aku t’gerak hati nk download cta 2 lak. Dh download, apa lg tgk laa...n masa tgk 2 laa aku put my eye 2 the watak utamanya, si Ryoma Echizen 2. Haruslaa kan, watak utama 2 laa yg akan menentukan sama ada aku nk tgk filem 2 ke x..kehkehkeh. But hmmm…..nah-ah….that movie is so-so….well, I caught my eyes on the main actor, n here is his resume….

But actually, aku start caught up ngan Kanata Hongo is bila aku tgk 1 music video artis b’kumpulan Jepun ni…weh, I really touched with the MV’s story, n the sweetest thing, he’s in it!!! Masa 2 laa aku start minat kat dia…(maknanya yg kat Prince of Tennis live-action 2…mmg x sedar laa betapa CUTEnya dia)…..*kami sebaya btw….lucky me..*

Bila dh addicted, mulalaa search 4 drama2 n movie2 yg d’lakonkan oleh dia. K’banyakan drama n movie yg ada dia, dia bnyk jd major supporting role ngan supporting role jk. Ada pun lead role, juz in 2 films only, Prince of Tennis n baru2 ni, 1 film thriller jepun yg b’tajuk ‘GOTH’. S’lebihnya, supporting roles n major supporting roles..n dh d’kompomkan yg dia jugak akan muncul ngan film GANTZ live action ngan Ninomiya Kazuari ngan Kenichi Matsuyama thn dpn, pun as supporting role jk. Neh~ but pd pandangan sy, Kanata’s better n suit well with supporting roles. Bkn apa, dia ni p’minat bkn main bnyk, kalo x bnyk kat tpt k’lahiran dia, kat luar negara 2 laaa p’minat dia m’lobo2 (bak kata org Swk). But 1 thing that I n mungkin ramai lg Kanata fans yg stuju, walaupun dia juz supporting roles, dia adakalanya stands out m’lebihi lead role itu sendiri. Let’s juz say that, our kawaii chibi Kana-kun is born with such a great talent in acting. In short, apa2 je watak yg dia bawak, x kisahlaa movie @pun drama, he can handle it well….(currently watching Yankee-kun 2 Megane-chan, he really kick butt as Gaku Izumi, the so-annoying-genius-bespectacled ex-yankee)

So that’s it.Jgn hairanlaa kalo in the later post I keep on praising him, n sounds bias 2 other actor, sbb I juz fangirling him since PoT…huhuhu. Till then (this ending sucks!!) ja-ne~
